The genus ALDROVANDA

belongs to the family of Droseraceae and includes mostly aquatic species.

The aldrovanda is a carnivorous plant that captures prey by means of

SOCKET DEVICES WITH CLICK MOVEMENTS

that imprison the animals with active movements.In fact, when the prey lands on the plant, some sensitive hairs make the trap snap shut.

In this genus we find a single species theAldrovanda vesiculosa very rare and unfortunately endangered.
